Old deck gone, new deck built - start to finish. That's exactly what we did here. Full demo, fresh framing, new composite decking, and all the finishing details to make it solid and safe. No shortcuts, no patching over problems.
The decking itself is a two-tone composite layout that gives the surface a clean, finished look. Composite was the right call here - it holds up against the elements without the cracking, splintering, and constant maintenance that wood demands. Once it's down, it's down.
The railing system ties the whole thing together. Matte black aluminum posts and balusters give it a sharp, modern edge. The stair sections got the same treatment - matching railings, consistent spacing, and treads that feel as sturdy as they look. These details matter more than people realize. A deck that looks good but wobbles when you walk on it isn't a finished deck.
We also paid close attention to the framing and structure underneath. Getting the bones right is where a deck actually earns its lifespan. Rushing that part to get to the pretty stuff is exactly how you end up back at square one in a few years. We're not interested in that.
This homeowner got a deck they can actually use and not worry about. Solid footing, clean lines, and craftsmanship you can see from every angle. That's the standard we hold ourselves to on every exterior carpentry job we take on.
